Playing with Spitfire – Speedflying from Eagles Nest

Posted on 12 January 2012

Matt launching towards the east by Eagles Nest

I had the opportunity to shoot a few photos of Matt and Jose when they were enjoying a few speedflying sessions with the Swing Spitfire 11 from Eagles Nest (which is located at the end of the norwegian Lysefjorden).

I will be looking to get some more photos of this fantastic flying machine in 2012, from the ground and in flight as well – so let me know if you are flying somewhere in Europe.

I finally got to fly myself this summer in Switzerland, you can check the video out here: Let the new Spitfire Speedfly adventure begin – finally got some air

I added a small sample from Trentemøllers ‘Snowflake’ – get the full song here:itunes.apple.com/dk/album/the-last-resort/id198723009

Impressions from Norway – Kjerag Lysebotn Smellveggen Base Jumpers and the Fjord

Posted on 20 December 2011

Spent quite a lot of time in this place in 2011. I tried to capture part of the unique settings that Lysebotn in Norway has to offer.

Every evening a load of base jumpers go up to jump either Smellveggen exit 1, 2, 3 or exit zero. Some days I didn’t want to join them so I stayed at the camp ground with my camera to capture some of the scenery.

Base jumping at Kjerag is unique – if you want to go there to watch or jump yourself take a look at their website www.basekjerag.com

Oh..which reminds me, I have added some similar impressions in this video – looong video he he – check it out if you like the above photos.

MTB Base jumping – Riding a 1000 meter vertical cliff

Posted on 19 December 2011

My fellow base jumper Chad and I were hiking up for a regular base jump, and ran into these 2 norwegian MTB enthusiasts Tom and Terje this summer at Kjerag in Norway. They we hauling their 2 Trek MTB’s up a steep steep trail to get a photo on the famous Kjerag Bolten.

Next thing I know is that they joked about how cool it would be to ride it off the mountain…

Chad: I’ll do it!
Me: I will follow you and film your pleasure ride…
Terje & Tom: Great, tomorrow it is!

Please enjoy our little adventure. And as Tom and Terjes MTB team motto states:
“Alt er mulig!” – “Everything is possible!”

PS: Yes, we recovered all pieces of the wonderful Trek MTB, and it DID receive a little beating caused by a “faster than normal” decent – sorry about that!!!

A little bit of Norway – 2011 Base jumping fun at Kjerag

Posted on 18 December 2011

Summer 2011 in Kjerag, Norway was great. Lot’s of good jumps from those incredible cliffs. When jumping in Kjerag the visuals are simply unique, well worth sharing, so here’s a little footage from a few of my jumps.
