Just fun at the dropzone. Low jump for landing pictures for Danish Lotto tv feature as the club received some financial support from them. Front and back track fun with Kim, pure relaxation in the sky. Beach jump with Nicky and Morten including beer race in “very low flight”. All in all a very good Saturday at the Dropzone.
Here is a little feature on my friend – Tim “the Cook” – videoman a la carte. I must have spent several hours in the air with this guy, as he is on the spot for almost every single tandem jump I’ve had in the past.
Hanging on! – the “no landing gear exit”
First of all I must tell you about one new trend, that I know Tim enjoys A LOT, when I jump the heavier tandem passengers from the Cessna 172. It is always exiting to see how long Tim can hang on to the wing strut while the pilot retracts the landing gear and I climb out with the passenger. I think the current record is about 35 seconds – with Tim just clinging to the strut. I guess hoping for a quick exit…? Or perhaps he is getting into a new fitness idea?
Great shots – capturing the moment
Tim definitively puts a lot of hard work into capturing the passengers emotions and documenting the actions. I’m always impressed by his great pictures. In my opinion every tandem passenger should choose to get Tim’s video AND stills – here is a collection of some a them:
Here’s Tim at “work”
I’ve made a few shots of Tim with my new Tonfly Canon 450D setup. When I get the chance to join Tim at “work” when he is filming a tandem with another tandem master I will update this post with some video too.
The weekend of July 4th brought also this nice experience along. Filming my friends in a 4-way exit I suddenly felt like we were all weightless in space. Watching the video last night I think that was just about the best description! Take a look yourself (don’t forget sound ON);
