Skydiving on a beautiful December day in Denmark

Here’s a collection of jumps and canopy flights from one of those unique days you get to experience as a skydiver.

You arrive at the dropzone not really expecting to jump that day, because clouds are hanging low and you’re at winters doorstep. So you start out by asking the pilot to fly as high as possible – just to get some kind of free fall feeling. All of a sudden the weather changes for the better and you find yourself on the plane again climbing towards 4.000 meters, only to discover that is was too damn cold to jump from that altitude. So you end up doing lower jumps all day – just enjoying canopy flights with your friends and sucking in all that wonderful free air high above Denmark.

Here’s a flashback to December 13th 2009 – Filler, Morten R, Morten V, Claus, Thomas, Poul V, Alice, Gufler, Kristian and me enjoying a wonderful day of falling and flying.

Velo 103 attack and pure December fun

With the GoPro Hero Wide mounted to my foot I made a few jumps just to see the video angle and study my Crossfire 109 openings. Had agreed with Thorndahl that we could do a few flybys and so on after opening. On approaching his Velocity 103 I had low tension on my lines and when I flew into his turbulence burble I got a nice wack. I was expecting some turbulence but not that much of a bumpy ride. I had plenty of altitude so no reason to react on my toggles, but a nice lesson in case I get into someones Velo turbulence at a lower level one day…

This way shot on the standard GoPro Hero Wide, which is not a big fan of low light work. Can’t wait to get my hands on the new GoPro HD! The footage I have seen is very convincing, even in low light conditions like on these December days where the sun is low on the horizon.
